Robert Cattanach and Kent Bell opened Cavallero in July 2006. The idea was to open a small neighbourhood bar/restaurant in the interesting location of the bottom end of Smith Street, Collingwood, between a second hand clothing store and a laundrette.
Open Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rotating microbrewery beers on the single tap. Local independent wine producers on the pour, in addition to the odd interesting international number or two and selection of 60 or so wines by the bottle.
The food direction is all about seasonal produce from local and national produces. With simple homely flair and a rustic European twist the aim is to please. Wine food if you wish. Honest food.
The aim of this blog is as much about what we do at Cavallero as what’s presently exciting in the world, art, bands and music as well as our love for good service, honest food and beverages.
